Daily M.O.R.S.E.L. - April 16

If you haven't already, be  sure to visit my  Daily M.O.R.S.E.L.  introduction page where I explain how and why I complete five daily bite-sized tasks (Meditate, Oil, Read, Share, Exercise, Laugh) to support my all-around health. I just completed the dreaded Quarter-End Valuation process at work - fellow actuaries can feel my pain. I've been doing my MORSELs, but haven't had time to share. I'll to my best to share more consistently in the coming weeks. Below are the activities I completed today! MEDITATE I've been a bit anxious lately, and I was feeling this tension in my shoulders and back. I tried this full body scan meditation to help ease this tension and to be more aware of myself and my thoughts during the day. Try it out before bed, very relaxing! Either complete the steps in this instructive image from fix.com , or be guided step by step by this Youtube video . OIL My nails needed some love so I did an at-home-mani. Not perfect, but it'll do!...

About Me

Currently, I work at a Canadian Life and Health insurance company. My job requires that I think about death and disease...a lot. Ironically, with professional exams and work, I haven't had much time to think about my personal health and well being. I've started this blog as the first of, hopefully, many steps towards taking my health (mental, physical, emotional, environmental, spiritual)  into my own hands. It will be a journal of sorts, taking you all through the things I plan to try...what works...what doesn't...habits I need to get rid of...habits I want to start. Feel free to ask questions and send feedback!

If you haven't already, be sure to visit my Daily M.O.R.S.E.L. introduction page where I explain how and why I complete five daily bite-sized tasks (Meditate, Oil, Read, Share, Exercise, Laugh) to support my all-around health. As promised, below are the activities I completed today! MEDITATE First thing in the morning, I cleared my head with some mindful breathing. Get into a comfy seated position and try this quick 3-minute meditation! OIL After meditation, I tried this homemade coffee face mask and, although the clean-up was a bit of a chore, I would definitely do it again! M y skin still feels so soft!  READ Since the required isolation time for COVID-19 suspected cases and travelers is 14 days, I found the Reader's Digest list of 14 must-read books an appropriate challenge to tackle. I have only read 5 of the books on the list to completion, so my goal for the next few weeks will be to complete the remaining 9. I'm a few chapters into Great Expect...
